NKWAZI WOMEN'S CLUB REACHES OUT TO CHAWAMA FAMILY IN NEED

By Police News Reporter

The Patron of the Nkwazi Women's Club, Mrs. Beatrice Musamba, accompanied by National Executive members, has visited the family of a 14-year-old Grade Seven pupil in Chawama Compound, whose difficult circumstances recently drew widespread public attention on social media.

The visit formed part of the club's corporate social responsibility programme, which aims to support vulnerable members of the community and foster a spirit of compassion and unity among citizens.

During the outreach, the club presented the family with assorted foodstuffs and school supplies to ease their hardship and ensure the young boy's education and well-being are not compromised.

Speaking through her deputies, Mrs. Clara Mpofu Hamamba and Mrs. Susan Bulungi Siandange, Mrs. Musamba said the initiative was inspired by the spirit of ubuntu — the African philosophy of shared humanity, love, and mutual support.

She emphasised the importance of togetherness and called on members of society to look out for one another, particularly vulnerable children and families facing adversity.

"We believe that every child deserves care, protection, and an opportunity to succeed in life, regardless of their background or circumstances," Mrs. Musamba said.

The boy's grandmother, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the club for stepping in during one of the family's most trying periods.

She revealed that she is solely responsible for the child's upkeep following the death of his father, while his mother remains too ill to provide meaningful support.

"I am the only one taking care of the boy because his father passed away and his mother is sick. Life has become very difficult because I do not have any source of income," she said, fighting back tears.

Community members who witnessed the donation commended the club for its compassion and social conscience, describing the contribution as timely and impactful.

The Nkwazi Women's Club reaffirmed its commitment to community outreach programmes that uplift vulnerable families and promote unity, love, and social responsibility across Zambia.
