SHIBUYUNJI SWEARS IN NEW COUNCIL LEADERS
Shibuyunji Town Council has sworn in its newly elected leaders, including the Council Chairperson, 12 Councillors, two Members of Parliament, an Alderman and other elected leaders.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Shibuyunji Town Council Civic Centre and was presided over by Magistrate Hon. Amy Masoja.
The ceremony was attended by Senior Chief Shakumbila, Members of Parliament, Councillors, Council management, traditional leaders, the media and other invited guests.
Welcoming the newly elected leaders and guests, Council Secretary Mr Oscar Chilanga said the Council was ready to work with the new leadership in delivering quality services and promoting development in the district.
Mr Chilanga said the Council was prepared to take the lead in implementing projects that would improve the lives of residents, including the installation of solar street lights aimed at improving security and enhancing the appearance of the town.
The newly elected Council Chairperson, Mr Macmillan Shimukonka, also delivered his acceptance speech after taking the oath of office.
In his speech, the Chairperson expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and pledged to work closely with Councillors, Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, Council management and other stakeholders to promote development in Shibuyunji.
He said the new leadership would focus on addressing the needs of residents and ensuring that development projects were implemented in a transparent and accountable manner.
Giving the closing remarks, Councillor Mike Luputa thanked the invited guests, traditional leaders, elected leaders, Council management and all stakeholders for attending the ceremony. He called for unity, teamwork and commitment among the new leadership as they begin their mandate to serve the people of Shibuyunji.
The swearing-in marks the beginning of a new chapter for Shibuyunji Town Council, with the newly elected leaders expected to work together to strengthen service delivery and accelerate development across the district.
With the new leadership now officially in office, Shibuyunji looks forward to renewed commitment, teamwork and practical development that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.
