The May 2026 Breederiver flood had a massive impact on Monks Gin Distillery.
The flood water made its way through our distillery, tasting areas and surrounding property, leaving behind damage, mud and a lot of hard work ahead of us. Looking back at these photos is heartbreaking, but they also tell the story of where we are right now.
Since the moment we were safely able to get back into the building, we have been hands-on every single day. Cleaning, fixing, pressure washing, planning and doing whatever we can to get Monks back on its feet. Today, Saturday, is no different. We are still here, working full-time and putting in everything we have.
We are also busy working on access and roads to make sure our clients can safely reach us again. If all goes according to plan, we are hoping to be open and running again from next week. We will keep you updated every step of the way.
