16 people joined me this morning for a walk along the river from the Cascade. The entrance we used was a 5 minute walk away from the Cascade so very convenient. It was a beautiful morning - just right for seeing the Cascade and the forested river path. 2 mountain wagtails did a flyby as well which was delightful! Thank you very much to everyone who attended and donated...and picked up litter on the way. BTW if anyone has the contact details for Matt (PHD student whose number I didn't save) or Kirsten please dm me.

A group of enthusiastic nature lovers joined Linda Smith on a beautiful Autumn morning walk along the Warren Friedman Trail. The first stop was to admire the newly placed gate at the entrance to the trail, thanks to committee member Clive Read. The gate has added such a welcoming touch to this lovely route.

The group successfully navigated the small ladder and rocky pathway down to the river, enjoying the fresh air, scenic views, and wonderful company along the way. The walk ended at the beach area, with hopes of spotting the half-collared kingfishers, but they remained elusive this time around.

All in all, it was a refreshing and memorable morning outdoors, filled with nature, adventure, and good conversation.

Discover a compact trail that offers a rich mix of forest, grassland, and scenic river views. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required, as sections include rock scrambling and potentially slippery inclines.

Please bring water, sturdy walking shoes, and walking sticks for support.

Thank you to all the members and visitors who joined the Plant Power walk on Sunday 12 April. Your continued support, enthusiasm, and willingness to share knowledge made it a truly rewarding morning.

The reserve was looking especially beautiful, and the new plantings around the boma are well worth a visit.
