A POWERFUL PRAYER FOR VICTORY: MK WOMEN LEADING FROM THE FRONT

The Umkhonto weSizwe Party Abaqulusi Sub-Region welcomes and appreciates the powerful Zululand MK Women’s League Election Prayer held today at King Shenge Village.

The Abaqulusi Sub-Regional Elections Task Team (SETT) was honoured to be among the attendees of this important programme. As we approach the 2026 Local Government Elections (LGE), this prayer was not only timely but deeply needed. We recognise the importance of seeking strength, guidance, unity and wisdom as we prepare for the decisive electoral battle ahead.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the organisers who worked tirelessly to make this programme possible, as well as to all guests, mothers, sisters, comrades and community members who attended and contributed to its success.

The strength, commitment and leadership demonstrated by the women of the MK Women’s League give us renewed confidence that our movement is ready for the road ahead. Indeed, victory is certain if our mothers and sisters lead us from the front!

The Abaqulusi Sub-Region stands firmly behind the women of our movement. Let us continue to organise, mobilise and unite our communities as we march towards victory in the LGE.

MKP Abaqulusi Sub-Region Welcomes Political Developments in Zululand

On 20 August 2026, the Abaqulusi Sub-Region Elections Coordinator and Spokesperson had the privilege of attending a significant media briefing hosted by the uMkhonto weSizwe Party Zululand Regional Leadership, where the Region welcomed prominent former members of the IFP, including a former Deputy Mayor, former Speaker and former Councillor from the uPhongolo Sub-Region.

This development demonstrates that the political tide is changing in Zululand. People who once stood on the opposite side are recognising the growing strength, vision and credibility of the MK Party.

The MKP Abaqulusi Sub-Region welcomes this development and remains committed to building a powerful movement that puts the people first and transforms local government for the better.

STATEMENT ON THE SUCCESS OF THE ZULULAND FUNDRAISING GALA DINNER

uMkhonto weSizwe Party Abaqulusi Sub-Region congratulates the Zululand Region on the resounding success of the Zululand Fundraising Gala Dinner, held last night.

This historic occasion was a huge success and a significant milestone for the MKP. We are particularly proud that this was the first Regional Gala Dinner of its kind in the entire MKP Regions within KZN province,setting a powerful precedent for the organisation.

The purpose of the gala dinner was achieved beyond expectations. It demonstrated the growing strength, unity, commitment and organisational capacity of MKP in Zululand, while strengthening relationships with business sector within Zululand,service providers, supporters and members of our movement.

Abaqulusi Sub-Region extends its sincere appreciation to all business people, service providers, MKP members, supporters, organisers, volunteers and everyone who contributed to making this historic event a success.
This achievement belongs to all of us.

The success of the gala is a clear demonstration that when MKP cadres, communities and progressive forces work together with a common purpose, nothing can stop the movement from advancing to greater heights.

WOMEN’S DAY STATEMENT

The Umkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) Abaqulusi Sub-Region extends revolutionary greetings and warm Women’s Day wishes to all women of Abaqulusi.

Today we honour the strength, resilience and daily contribution of women who remain the backbone of our families, communities and society. We also salute the generations of women who led and sustained the struggle for freedom, dignity, equality and justice.

Women’s Day must be more than a celebration. It must reflect the ongoing struggle for real economic emancipation. Political freedom must translate into jobs, skills development, quality public services, and improved living conditions—especially for women in rural and disadvantaged communities.

The MKP Abaqulusi Sub-Region calls on women to deepen their participation in community development and decision-making structures. Women must not only be seen as voters during elections, but as leaders, organisers and decision-makers shaping the future of their communities.

We further encourage young women of Abaqulusi to organise, participate and take up leadership roles. Their voices, ideas and energy are essential in shaping the political and economic direction of our communities.

As MKP Abaqulusi, we remain committed to working with the people of Abaqulusi to build a society rooted in dignity, equality, accountability, economic opportunity and effective service delivery.

CONDOLENCES TO OUR FALLEN COMRADES

Today, 08 August 2026, the Abaqulusi Sub-Regional Leadership, together with MKP volunteers and fellow cadres, attended the funerals of two of our fallen soldiers who remained committed to the revolutionary struggle.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends and comrades of Cde Pastor Ngwenya of Ward 17 and Cde Makhendlas of Ward 20 during this difficult time.

Their commitment, dedication and contribution to the movement will forever remain remembered. As the MKP family, we stand together with their families and communities in mourning and honouring their lives.

May their souls rest in eternal peace.

A Successful Programme in Ward 15

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) Abaqulusi Sub-Region is pleased to announce the successful programme held in Ward 15, where we had the honour of welcoming new members from various political parties, including members who previously belonged to the IFP.

The programme was attended by the Zululand Regional Leadership, Abaqulusi Sub-Regional Leadership, Ward Leadership, and fellow MKP cadres, who came together to welcome and support the comrades who have chosen to join the uMkhonto weSizwe Party.

We warmly welcome all comrades who have taken the decision to join MKP. Your decision to become part of our growing movement is appreciated, and we look forward to working together in building stronger structures and advancing the interests of our communities.
The successful programme in Ward 15 demonstrates the continued growth and strengthening of MKP on the ground.

We remain committed to engaging communities, building our structures and working alongside our members as we prepare for the upcoming electoral phase.
