DEPUTY MINISTER IN THE PRESIDENCY KENNY MOROLONG'S WRAP-UP SCHOOL SHOE DONATION CAMPAIGN

On the 25th May 2026, the deputy minister in the Presidency is a member of the Parliament Standing Committee on Finance and a member of the Standing Committee on Appropriations. Honourable Kenny Morolong from the presidency office led a school shoe campaign at the Greater-Taung Local Municipality, as part of a wrap-up campaign focused on Operation Dignity and Honourable Communities.

The primary purpose of school shoe donations is to remove physical, social, and emotional barriers to education for underprivileged learners. For millions of children globally, a basic pair of shoes is a luxury that directly determines whether they can attend or succeed in class.

The district speaker emphasised that, due to the district budget constraints, investors are important pillars of operational dignity in our society. The Mokgareng Secondary School Principal, Mr. Morapedi Melamu, has welcomed the token from the deputy minister and regarded him as a true, humble person who gives back to his communities. The principal reiterated his appreciation to the deputy minister and the KZN International Business Association.

TRY SKILLS CAREER EXHIBITION AND VOTER REGISTRATION LED BY HON. GAOLATLHE KGABO

On Tuesday, the 22nd of May 2026, a Member of Parliament in the constituency office, Honorable Gaolatlhe David Kgabo, who serves in the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education, Sport, Arts, and Culture committees, has been deployed to the Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality- Lekwa-Teemane
Bloemhof. For the try skills career exhibition and voter registration. The purpose of the career exhibition TVET Colleges. The primary purpose of a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College career exhibition is to promote access to vocational education and bridge the information gap for high school learners, unemployed youth, and community members. These events actively challenge the perception that traditional universities are the only path to success by highlighting hands-on, practical alternatives.

District speaker Dr. Kgalalolo Sereko has also reiterated the importance of the event as a continuous collaboration between the parliament constituency and the Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality.
