Theft Syndicate Foiled: Phoenix - KZN

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) successfully apprehended a theft syndicate operating in Phoenix-KZN, targeting businesses after hours.

Acting on received information, Reaction Officers tracked a blue VW Polo containing several men, who were planning to target a business premises on Tuesday evening and remove high-value goods. Reaction Officers identified the vehicle and moved in as it departed the premises, arresting two suspects and recovering stolen goods. No further syndicate members were found in the vehicle.

The suspects are residents of Kwa Mashu in KZN.

A lone suspect gained entry into a home in Lotusville - KZN this afternoon (Tuesday).

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the residence on Sun-crescent and was informed that the suspect had fled. The homeowner who was in his garage had heard noises indoors. Upon investigating he noticed a suspect fleeing.

The house was ransacked & valuables stolen.

Housebreakers Enter Occupied Home: Everest Hieghts - KZN

Two (2) suspects entered a home in Lenina Drive in Everest Hieghts - KZN this afternoon (Tuesday 16:40).

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received the call for assistance from the homeowner who was upstairs while the suspects had gained forced entry through a window (image 2).

The initially ignored the homeowners screams but eventually exited and fled through a bush.

Missing Uber Driver: Phoenix - KZN

Floyd Nico Singaravelu (35), an Uber driver, has gone missing from his Grove End home in Phoenix - KZN, since Saturday (30/05/2026) at 22:00.

He has a tattoo on his right forearm and gold teeth. His wife reported that he left after attending church in an unidentified vehicle.

Madixa, a six (6) year old male dog is missing from the Empungeni Area of Ndwedwe - KZN since 29 May 2026.

Madixa is a male cross breed, black/greyish with no tail. Attempts by his ownerto locate him in the area were unsuccessful.

Eight (8) Men Fall Victim To N**e Scam: Durban - KwaZulu Natal

Eight (8) men have been blackmailed after sending explicit images to individuals posing as a single woman on Facebook.

The victims, including a businessman, medical professionals, educators, and a lawyer approached Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance.

The suspects used a uniform modus operandi, initiating contact through friend requests and brief conversations before requesting WhatsApp numbers. They then obtained personal and work details, sent explicit images, and demanded explicit images in return, followed by blackmail demands for substantial sums of money.

Several of the victims paid large sums of money before they sought assistance.

Stolen Tortoise Believed to Have Been Sold: Brindhaven - KZN

Torty (pictured) a twenty (20) year old tortoise stolen from Mt View in KZN in July 2025 by a scrap metal collector, is believed to have been sold to a resident in Brindhaven - KZN.

This information was provided by the owner, who approached Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) this morning (Tuesday).

According to Torty's owner, the tortoise was sold to two foreign nationals residing together in Brindhaven - KZN. Both foreigners are adult males and drive a white VW Tiguan. The transaction reportedly took place on Rosemary Drive. At the time of the theft, the tortoise had red nail polish markings on the shell.

The family does not wish to pursue criminal charges but is requesting the return of Torty.

Body Of Tony Govender Recovered: Hazelmere Dam - KZN

The South African Police Services (SAPS) and Metro Police Search & Rescue Units have successfully recovered the body of fifty four (54) year old Tony Govender this morning (Tuesday).

The recovery operation commenced on Friday (29/05/2026) and lasted five (5) days. His family remained on the banks of the Hazelmere Dam in KZN. during the recovery operation.

Govender drowned while swimming out to recover a drifting jet ski. He was at the dam celebrating his 54th birthday with friends.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) initially deployed a Helicopter in a rescue attempt before it could be established that Govender had drowned. On request of the family, the Helicopter was again despatched to conduct a low search on Saturday afternoon (30/05/2026).

Govender a father of two (2) is an Umhlanga - KZN resident and a businessman.

A male and a female kitten are receiving care at the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters after they were discovered abandoned at a clinic in the Verulam CBD in KZN.

An animal welfare organisation will be assisting with rehoming the kittens.

Wanted Suspect Arrested: Trenance Park - KZN

Acting on a tip-off, Members and of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrested a suspect wanted for several crimes in Trenance Park - Kwazulu Natal.

The information was received after a video was circulated on this platform yesterday (Monday) after the man gained entry onto a residential property and stole valuables. Since the release of the CCTV footage several complainants have reported that the man had also broken into their home.

This morning (Tuesday) a team of Reaction Officers kept observation over a home in Amouti - KZN and converged onto the property while the suspect slept. He was arrested and positively identified by the complainant & CCTV footage.

The suspect has been handed over to the South African Police Services (SAPS).
