Highland Nook : Self-catering accommodation and camping The hidden paradise where great memories are made Highland Nook is situated on “Borreray Farm” 30km from Underberg. Remember your passports and camera.

Highland Nook has privately owned self-catering cottages and a camp site in the Southern Drakensberg - Lotheni district. The farm has commanding views of the mountains and river valleys on all sides. Three comfortable self-catering cottages have cozy fireplaces for those winter nights. All cottages have electricity, fridges and gas stoves. The Stone Age Cottage and the Croft Cottage also have mi

crowave ovens. We supply linen and blankets in all the cottages, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. You need to bring your own towels, toiletries, charcoal, binoculars, bicycles, hats and picnic blankets. Ball games are allowed on the volley ball field The rondavel -Hadeda’s Nest shares the camper’s ablutions. View the tranquillity of the mountains from the cottages or from your camp site. Enjoy a hike on one of the walking trails, if you are a bird lover bring your camera for those great photographic pictures or relax and create a serene painting from your door step. Camping facilities are available with hot water baths and showers, plug points to some of the camp sites and a chest freezer for storage of your braai meat. There are lots of shady trees to camp under on well manicured lawns. Camp with us if you enjoy the mountain atmosphere and a laid back and relaxed vacation. The park is pet friendly (small dogs by prior arrangement). More details are found on the Accommodation page. 4 x 4 self drive is allowed on the farm and surrounding areas. (Gates – please leave them as you find them) The famous Sani Pass is in the area for either 4 x 4 self drive or contact the tour operators to take you into Lesotho. All roads to Highland Nook are on scenic gravel roads so please ensure that your vehicle is suited to this type of terrain as it can get slippery in wet and snowy conditions. If you enjoy a non-commercialized holiday then Highland Nook is the place for you and your family.
