WATER SUPPLY RESTORED AT MPHENI BLOCK-C H17-005

Vhembe District Municipality wishes to inform residents that water supply has been restored at Mpheni Block-C H17-005 under Makhado Local Municipality following the successful repair of a faulty borehole by the Municipality’s Maintenance and Operations Team.

The intervention forms part of the maintenance programme implemented under the Executive Mayor Cllr. MG Chauke aimed at addressing maintenance backlogs and ensuring reliable water supply.

Following the completion of the repair works, the borehole has been brought back into operation and the pumping of water into the designated storage facilities is currently underway. This process will support the restoration of water supply to the affected communities with residents expected to receive water shortly.

Water supply has been successfully restored at the Mulima-Madadzhe Borehole (Tsh*tale Satellite) under Makhado Local Municipality following the repair of a faulty borehole by the Municipality’s Maintenance and Operations Team.

The intervention is in line with the adopted maintenance plan under the leadership of His Worship the Executive Mayor Cllr. Miyelani Chauke aimed at addressing maintenance backlogs and ensuring the reliability of water infrastructure.

Following the completion of the repairs, the pumping of water into the storage facilities has commenced. This will facilitate the restoration of water supply to affected communities, with residents expected to receive water in the immediate period.

The Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality Cllr. Miyelani Chauke is attending the United African Apostolic Church General Conference at Ha-Mavhunga, Nzhelele, Makhado Local Municipality.

The conference was addressed by the Limpopo Provincial Premier, Honourable Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, who commended the work being undertaken by the Executive Mayor across the Vhembe District. In her address, the Premier acknowledged the intervention by the Executive Mayor to ensure that contractors previously appointed for the water project in Ha-Mavhunga and surrounding communities are called back to complete the outstanding work and expedite the provision of water to affected residents. The intervention underscores the municipality’s continued commitment to addressing service delivery challenges and ensuring that communities have access to reliable and sustainable water services.

The conference was also attended by various leaders across the political spectrum including the Secretary General of the ruling party Mr. Fikile Mbalula and Provincial Secretary Mr. Reuben Madadzhe underscoring the significance of the occasion.
