𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗬 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗞𝗘𝗬𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 — 𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗜

Since November 2008, Hamidi has been part of the Monkeyland family.

Before joining Monkeyland, Hamidi worked at zoos. A friend who was working at Monkeyland at the time encouraged him to come and work here — and the rest became part of Monkeyland’s story.

With a deep passion for animals, one of Hamidi’s favourite parts of his work is educating visitors during the tours and helping them learn more about the monkeys who call Monkeyland home. Since all the monkeys at Monkeyland come from captivity, every tour is an opportunity to share their stories and help visitors understand more about these incredible animals.

Does Hamidi have a favourite monkey? Not at all. He loves them all.

One thing that surprises visitors the most is seeing different species of monkeys living together — something that makes Monkeyland such a unique experience.

And if Hamidi had to describe Monkeyland in just three words?

𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥.

After all these years, it’s clear that Monkeyland is more than just a workplace for Hamidi — it’s a place he is truly passionate about.

Oh, and one more thing you might not know about Hamidi: he only drinks one cup of coffee a day… and no tea!

Thembi has been part of the Monkeyland kitchen team for an incredible 16 years, while Cindy is our newest team member, joining us just one month ago! There’s plenty of fruit to wash, chop and prepare before breakfast is ready…
