Matlosana Lighthouse

Matlosana Lighthouse is a registered Non-Profitable Company in South Africa within the North West Province. We seek to encourage a culture of learning and self-belief among our youth. We also strive to revive the spirit of togetherness within our communities through education and development; thus alleviating poverty and empowering our youth.

Matlosana Lighthouse wants to create a society in which the youth take the initiative to bring about social change. We strongly value peace, social justice, diversity, fun and democracy. These core value guide us through all of our practices and we believe that through this a culture of learning will be established. We have identified the absence of education and the lack of skills as driving forces behind unemployment; unfortunately the legacy of our past regime. Through education we aim to alter mind frames and capacitate communities to be skilful in numerous areas. This enables us to create job opportunities and prepare them for future employment within their own geographical regions. Matlosana Lighthouse has also started conducting life skill active citizen workshops with four strategic desks, namely: Enviro-active; Business & Employment; Sports, Arts & Culture and Peer Education. We aim for a direct outreach to learners, students, youth and young adults in our local municipalities.
