TO: All EFFSC SU MEMBERS
Greetings fellow fighters.
I hope this letter finds you in good spirits and your exam preparation are going well.
With the both the National and Provincial Elections being done. We now seek to have our Branch Student Assembly and Launch our branch at the matieland. We can never thank enough those who made their contribution in assisting with the program. Those who tweeted, posted, shared, etc, those who attended the elections debates and rally, those who did the canvassing, who put up posters, who wore their t-shirts and regalia on Fridays, those who volunteered to be party agents, who provide food for our party agents, we can never thank you enough. For without your contribution, the message of the EFF would not have reached over 1.8 Million South Africans and all voting stations would have closed without the EFF attaining a single vote, especially in areas which are populated by citizens who are historically unlikely to vote for EFF or to vote at all, areas such as Stellenbosch town. We can never thank enough, because it is due to your efforts that the EFF has successful sent our student activists of fees must fall to parliament. No any other party performed better than the EFF electorally. You did it without a branch, without a leadership structure and with less resources compared to others. We salute you have shown that indeed, the EFF is an idea who's time has come and based on the will of the people.
Now our focus should be on local matters. We indeed owe this institution of higher learning a student command branch with credible student leaders at its helm, who will effectively run its program. For an organisation that is incapable of having it's own programs which are aligned with its principles, is "prey to whatever wind that blows".
Before launching having the BSA, We must have at least 100 members signed up with the R10 membership fee paid up and pay the organisation the total R1000.
At least 50% + 1 of the members must be present to reach a quorum. As it currently stands, we have 56 members who have paid up their membership fees, thus we need to have a robust recruitment drive to get more students join the organisation. The recruitment drive will happen under the following terms:
1. Venue: Rooiplain.
2. Time: 12:00 - 14:00.
3. Date: 14 May 2019, Tues.
The Launch will take place under the following terms:
1. Venue: to be confirmed.
2. Time: 17:00.
3. Date: 16 May 2019.
Today at 13:00 in the neelsie, the task team will be meeting to further discuss both programmes. By hook or crook, we must launch on Thursday, May 16, before exam program commences.
Kindest regards.
Xolane Vincent Smith (Branch Convenor).
