A look at some of the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements’ key achievements contained in the 2025/2026 Annual Report, as tabled at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature on Friday, 4 September 2026.

During the reporting period, the Department:

🏡 Delivered 7 976 housing units — exceeding the annual target by 473 units
🔑 Allocated 5 445 completed, quality-assured homes to approved beneficiaries — 36% above target
📍 Acquired 279,95 hectares of well-located land for human settlements

These achievements brought more qualifying Gauteng families closer to secure homes, restored dignity and better access to economic opportunities.

Tomorrow, Gauteng Human Settlements MEC Tasneem Motara and Mogale City Executive Mayor Cllr Lucky Sele will hand over new homes to deserving beneficiaries at Dr Sefularo Village in Mogale City Municipality.

This milestone forms part of government’s ongoing commitment to restoring dignity, building sustainable communities, and accelerating service delivery across Gauteng through the Campaign.
