Introductory paragraphs of The Home Handyman September 2015 article:
"Bruce Hedenskog has always had an interest in nature as well as the conservation and protection of wildlife. Bruce, a banker by trade, has a passion for woodworking, like many of us, after retiring he was able to combine these interests and started a hobby making owl boxes.
Shortly afterwards, his son, Jason and daughter-in-law, Debbie, took up the hobby along with their children. Together this team created a business building and distributing Owl's House in-a-box (a ready-to-assemble owl house). They have kindly provided us wit their plans, pictures and assembly instructions. Debbie says, "We don't mind sharing our plans because we are all working towards the same goad - conservation of the precious owl. From an educational point of view alone, it's worthwhile installing an owl house."
By following their plans loosely, any dedicated woodworker can put an owl house together with ease. If you are not inclined to build your own from scratch, you can always order a ready-to-assemble spotted eagle owl or barn owl house."

Owl's House most recent venture and EXCITING NEWS is a project in conjunction with SAB and WWF - SA for the roll-out of a few Owl’s Houses in-a-box to some grain farmers in the Southern Cape part of the Better Barley Better Beer sustainable agricultural project. Hoot-Hoot!

A joint initiative by WWF-SA and SAB (Pty) Ltd is helping South African barley farmers to enhance the already substantial contribution they make to the country

Dear Encourager & Fellow Small Farmer in Southern-Africa,

Here-with reporting on progress with the effort to establish a territory for Barn Owls as part of our “nature’s way” rodent control at a small Farming God’s Way model project in Kameeldrif, Pretoria.

All steps, suggestions and recommendations having been followed as best possible, - including not falling off the ladder! We now pray to see some owls moving in while moles, mice and rats have already begun to move closer towards where the maize, soya and vegetables are being planted. The Herbs for our herb project as well as herbs as another natural remedy and deterrent against natural plagues and plant disease, are still but seeds in packets and descriptions in some books at this stage!

Thanks to brother Ben from church, who helped with many aspects, including the small awning and fixing the bracket/ installing the owl box (Owl’s House!), and thanks to my wife Marí who allowed me to use the Tentmaker office floor to assemble and treat/ prepare the owl box due to some rainy and rather stormy weather outside.
