Highmast lights maintenance activities were recently completed at Matshiding, Molapoamogale,Matshiding, Seabe and Phake
Further highmasts light maintenance activities were undertaken (on 01/06/2026 and 02/06/2026) with the replacements of the damaged contactors, bulbs, ignitors, capacitors and bulb holders, on the following highmast lights:
Digwale: D3, D4, D5, D6 and D9,
Sehoko; SEHK 01 and SEHK 03 and
Kabete: KAB 01 and KAB 02

UNPLANNED WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING OF THE DISTRIBUTION VALVE AT SIYABUSWA RESERVOIR

There is an unplanned water supply interruption due to the malfunctioning of the distribution valve at Siyabuswa reservoir. As a result, water supply from Siyabuswa reservoir had to be stopped to allow repairs at the valve.

The water services maintenance team is on site to fix the matter.The following areas will be affected by water supply interruption; Mogononong, GaPhaahla, Maganagobushwa all areas Siyabuswa. Water supply will be restored by Thursday, (04 June 2026).

The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused by this interruption and urges residents to continue using water sparingly.

The road maintenance team is continuing with pothole patching activities today at Ga-Phaahla (Ward 1 )and Katjibane (Ward 27) and internal streets regravelling at Marothobolong (Ward 12)

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution in these areas while work is underway.

4th QUARTER COMMUNITY BASED AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Nkangala District Municipality in collaboration with Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality hosted a Community-Based Awareness Campaign at Mmametlhake Secondary School aimed at educating and empowering communities on environmental sustainability, public health, disaster preparedness, and social challenges affecting young people.

The school principal, Mr Mogomotsi, welcomed all stakeholders and highlighted the importance of the initiative in equipping learners with valuable information on school applications, career opportunities, and the importance of staying away from drugs.

Various stakeholders, including Nkangala Fire and Rescue Services, the Local Drug Action Committee, the Department of Health and LoveLife engaged learners on risk prevention strategies, reporting of hazards, drug abuse awareness, mental wellness, fire safety, and emergency response procedures.

MMC for Community Development Services, Cllr Dipuo Mahlangu, encouraged learners to make responsible life choices and work together with stakeholders in building safer and healthier communities.

As part of supporting the school, NDM donated a 2500-litre JoJo water tank, 10 calculators, and sanitary pads to assist learners and improve water accessibility at the school.

The campaign highlighted the importance of community engagement in empowering young people with knowledge and promoting positive social change.
