Revolutionary Greetings TVET College Students
Let me take this opportunity to thank the SRC and the
Students of the College for being united in fighting
their rights and honouring South African Further
Education &Training Student Association SAFETSA call
of shutting down all TVET Colleges throughout the
Country. I hope we all understand the genuinity of the
call to shut down.
The least of those reasons are as following:-
-Cutting down of Students enrolment throughout the
Country
-Pending of results of the majority subjects in all
programs
-Unreleased Certificates for former and current
students in TVET Colleges
-UnreleasedDiplomas for students who completed their
in service training
-Unpaid stipend to students who are doing inservice
training but were assisted through NSFAS for transport
or accommodation
-Life Orientation changed to Computer practice and
Applied Accounting to also be shown with Pastel on
Certification
-Employed but unqualified Lectuerers
-Infrastructure Grants so Colleges can build student
residents, workshops and simulation rooms to fulfill the
objectives of Colleges of providing both theory and
Practical.
This is the least of SAFETSA grieviances that we want
the department commit themselves in resolving with
specified dates.
To all our students, we appreciate the mode in which
you responded to the shutdown, let us continue. Those
who are continuously concerned about when is the strike
will end. I have a proposal that you find out from DHET
if when are they intending to meet our demands
because we are not the ones started to strike instead
we are responding the strike of the DHET in those above
tabled issues.
