Senekal Swimming Pool & Sport Club Home of Swimming, Running, Cycling, Scuba Diving & Other Sports This pool was recently cleaned and restored to a working pool, after being closed in 1991.

The Senekal Swimming Pool & Sport Club is host to a variety of sport clubs, including swimming, cycling, running and scuba diving. During the past three decades it became a drug and crime eyesore in the middle of town. Restoration and Management is done by the Senekal Matwabeng Community Forum through a long term lease that was signed with the Setsoto Local Municipality. A generous donation by the

KykNet TV program, "Lottoland, help 'n Dorp" made the restoration possible. See the full program on Catch Up Channel 144 on DSTV. Residents are encouraged to join as members of the club, but you can also swim as a non-member by paying a day rate of R50 per person. Membership fees are available upon request, or at the swimming pool, where payment can also be made.

Please note that it will take a few more weeks before we will re-open the swimming pool for summer. When it got cold during winter, an old crack appeared where the root of a tree grew over the past 33 years. We will let you know as soon as it is fixed. We also plan a few exciting renovations, so your wait will be worth while.

Please note the swimming pool will only open again in October for two reasons. Firstly because the weather in September is still not good enough to keep the pool open full time. Secondly we want/need to do a few more renovations.

Our swimming is beautifully clean and the weather good this week. We are closed today (Sunday), but will be open from Monday to Saturday this week. Come and swim before the winter is here.

We will be open on Good Friday, 29 April from 12:00 until 17:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 until 17:00.
Closed on Sunday.
Open on Monday from 10:00 until 17:00.

Paul Erasmus Hoërskool and Senekal Primêre Skool had their first swimming gala in 33 years. It was a small start, as swimming is a new sport in Senekal, but the atmosphere was great and everyone loved it. Thanks to the Senekal Multi Sport Club committee for organizing the event and thanks to all the sponsors who helped to make it happen!!

Awesome event coming up: SENEKAL SUNFLOWER CHALLENGE on 30 March 2024.
We invite people from all over South Africa to take up the challenge and/or join us for a weekend of fun. March and April are spectacular sunflower and cosmos months in our region. You will test your fitness at a high level, while at the same time help us raise funds to maintain our recently renovated swimming pool. Please read the information on the photo. More detail to follow soon.
You can choose to Run (21 km), Cycle (90 km), or Swim (1,9km), or do all three in one day!
We have space for exhibitors, food stalls, etc and there will be live music!!

Dramatic clouds building yesterday just before sunset over the Senekal swimming pool. The water was amazing yesterday!! Clear and refreshing, while we experience a heat wave in the Free State.
