Naledi Zwane has been found safe and reunited with her family. The 21-year-old NWU student was reported missing earlier this week.

👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 FEZILE DABI DISTRICT WOMEN'S CELEBRATION: Dotted with Dignity and Draped with Wisdom

The Fezile Dabi District Women's Network Celebration, held under the theme “Dotted with Dignity and Draped with Wisdom,” took place on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, at The Lokation Lounge in Zamdela.

The event celebrated the dedication, leadership, resilience, and contributions of women within the District, while promoting unity, sisterhood, and professional excellence.

KEY ADDRESSES

Deputy District Commissioner, Brigadier Sefatsa, in her welcoming address, encouraged women to remain operationally focused, disciplined, and committed to performing their duties with professionalism, dignity, and dedication.

Mr Hlumelo Sibeko delivered a presentation on financial management.

Rev Motshele delivered a message of support focused on wisdom.

District Commissioner, Major General Makubo, emphasised the importance of unity, mutual support, and empowering one another to build a stronger and more effective organisation.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION

A special highlight of the celebration was the recognition of Captain Setshego, Chairperson of the Fezile Dabi District Women's Network, for her dedicated service and leadership. She was presented with:

⚡ ESKOM GAUTENG: Sebokeng Outage Update – Supply Restored to Most Areas, Zones 16 & 17 Affected by Cable Fault

Electricity supply has been restored to all areas affected by the Amasiza Substation emergency maintenance, with the exception of Zones 16 and 17.

CURRENT STATUS

• Supply restored: All affected areas except Zones 16 and 17
• Zones 16 and 17: Remain without supply due to a cable fault
• Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR): Not available due to ongoing rain affecting restoration activities

⚡ PLANNED POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION: Vanderbijlpark – 12 & 13 September 2026

Emfuleni Local Municipality advises residents of a planned power supply interruption to carry out repairs of a power transformer, feeder breakers, High Voltage (HV) Isolators, and maintain HV Breakers at Munic Transmission Station.

INTERRUPTION DETAILS

📅 Date: Saturday, 12 September – Sunday, 13 September 2026
⏰ Time: 09:00 – 19:00 (34-hour interruption)

CE 7 AND MIAMI SANDS

Consumers at CE 7 and Miami Sands are also notified of this planned power supply interruption from Saturday, 12 September 2026 at 09:00 until Sunday, 13 September 2026 at 19:00.

REASON FOR OUTAGE

This interruption is necessary for corrective maintenance of power distribution infrastructure at Munic Substation to ensure long-term stability and improved power supply to affected areas.

SAFETY NOTICE

The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) , a Schedule 3 government component of the Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG), offers Apprenticeship and Experiential Learning skills development opportunities for the 2026/27 financial year.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

A three-year Learnership Programme aimed at facilitating training of learners to become Artisans.
