On 2 May 2026, we proudly hosted the Cross Country League 8 event in partnership with Scottburgh Athletics Club, welcoming athletes from across the region to experience our growing trail network within the beautiful Renishaw Coastal Precinct.

Our purpose-built routes, developed by the team from Badger’s Cycling and Sports Centre, continue to establish Crocworld as more than just a wildlife destination - but a space for adventure, fitness, and unforgettable outdoor experiences.

A standout performance came from Bongumusa Ngcobo, who completed the 10km race in an impressive 37:51.

As shared by Lungelo Zuma:

More than 200 runners took on something completely new at Crocworld on Sunday 26 April, and it delivered in a big way.

The first-ever Crocworld Trail Run, hosted in partnership with KZN Trail Running, saw participants tackle 5km, 10km, and 20km routes through purpose-built trails designed to challenge and excite. From technical sections to scenic stretches, the course quickly became the highlight of the day, with runners describing it as unique, engaging, and unlike anything else in the area.

Congratulations to David Lamont (1:35:37) and Romy Wenzel (1:41:04) for securing first place in the long course.

Full race results are available via KZN Trail Running:

This marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Crocworld as it continues to evolve into a destination that blends conservation with outdoor adventure.

No big plans needed this Workers Day 🐊

Some long weekends are best spent simply - somewhere outdoors, unhurried, and easy to enjoy with family.

At Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh, the day naturally finds its own rhythm. You might time your visit for crocodile feeding at 11am or 3pm, where a guide calls the crocodiles and visitors watch as they begin to move in from across the enclosure. It’s one of those moments that quietly draws everyone in.

Beyond that, guests explore at leisure - walking through shaded gardens, discovering a variety of reptiles, and enjoying the open, coastal setting of the KZN South Coast.

When it’s time to slow down, Fish Eagle Café offers a place to sit back and enjoy a meal or coffee overlooking the ocean. A simple pause that completes the experience.

If you’re looking for things to do for a relaxed family outing near Durban, Crocworld is an easy, local choice for the long weekend. Open daily from 9am.

Ticket Prices:
🎟️ Adults: R140
🎟️ Children: R110

Not all wildlife encounters are loud or fast… some are quiet, fascinating, and misunderstood.

At Crocworld Conservation Centre, our reptile collection includes a variety of snake species that play an important role in the ecosystem and are far more misunderstood than feared.

During your visit, you can learn more about these incredible reptiles from our experienced team. For those feeling brave, there is also the opportunity to safely handle a non-venomous snake under supervision.

It’s a simple moment, but one that often changes how people see these animals completely.

What makes snakes so fascinating:

🐍 They play a vital role in controlling ecosystems
🐍 Their movement, scales and behaviour are uniquely adapted for survival
🐍 Many species are more shy than aggressive
🐍 They are an important part of South Africa’s natural biodiversity
🐍 Our team helps visitors understand and respect them safely
🐍 You may even get the chance to safely hold one during your visit

If you’re looking for things to do in Scottburgh, a bird and reptile park experience in KZN, or family-friendly animal activities near Durban, Crocworld offers an educational wildlife experience for all ages.
