Continent Noir Foundation Bienvenue sur CONTINENT NOIR! "What problem would you solve if you could only pick one?" Join us today at http://continentnoirfoundation.weebly.

CONTINENT NOIR FOUNDATION is a young African organization founded in 2006 by young African students who met on HI5 (a social media website). The story unfolded after they each became part of a group called "Continent Noir" group on this online platform and, then decided to take this small initiative to a whole new level. Originating mostly from the Central and Western parts of Africa, the group be

came a refuge for most members studying/living/working abroad and wishing to share knowledge and wisdom on their continent's development. The idea of launching an NGO came from the group's Founder with the main goal of helping Africa’s poor address their own unique needs. We believe that all of us desire to improve our lives, and that all of us – even the poorest among us – can reach our full potential if we come together and if we are given access to the right tools and information. Our work focuses on the eradication of poverty around the continent and spreading the word about African young influencers and entrepreneurs who are responsible of the change that we are seeing in Africa. Our collaborative approach to poverty alleviation recognizes the multidimensional and complex nature of global poverty. We work with public and private sector companies, non-governmental organizations, government agencies and others to ensure we achieve lasting impact in the regions where we work. We are headquartered in South Africa with representations in African francophone countries, and the French Caribbean.

Child labour robbing millions of health, education and growth

The World Day Against Child Labour is Today!
UNICEF estimates that 1 in 6 children under 14 years old are involved in child labour.
Worldwide, 7.4 million children in the same age group are engaged in domestic work, which is disproportionately carried out by girls.
In Haiti, more than 300 000 children are living in a “restavek” situation, Haitian creole word for “living with”. These children are often forced to work as domestic servants, labouring around the clock without pay, frequently subjected to abuse by their caretakers.
Please share or like it if you want to STOP child labour.
