A meeting was held at the Consulate General on the 7th of May 2026, to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the Government of Botswana and BCX, a digital solutions company, in support of Botswana’s Economic Transformation Programme, particularly under the priority area of digitalisation.
During the meeting, BCX expressed its interest in partnering with the Government of Botswana to provide innovative digital solutions aimed at enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency across key sectors. Particular emphasis was placed on the health sector, where the company proposed the implementation of digital technologies to support healthcare systems and improve access to efficient health services.
Discussions also explored opportunities for collaboration with other government ministries, particularly within the finance sector, with the objective of digitising public services and strengthening institutional efficiency through modern technology solutions.
The Consul General highlighted the growing presence of young people in Botswana’s digital and technology space who possess significant talent and innovation capabilities. In this regard, the Consul General encouraged BCX to consider collaborating with young Batswana techpreneurs through incubation and mentorship programmes that would support skills development, innovation, and funding within the digital economy.
Furthermore, discussions were held on possible approaches to navigating this space effectively in order to create sustainable employment and business opportunities for young people, while also contributing to Botswana’s broader economic transformation and digitalisation goals.
Both parties acknowledged the importance of digital transformation in driving economic growth, improving public sector performance, and advancing national development objectives. The meeting served as an initial engagement to explore possible partnerships and areas for future cooperation aligned with Botswana’s national development priorities.
The Consulate General welcomed the engagement and noted the potential benefits that such collaborations could bring towards supporting Botswana’s digitalisation agenda.
