This Evening, 06 Mayor 2026, MMC Jeje Legoete and MMC Nozipho Mapena led the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget Review Meeting, engaging with residents of Ward 16, 21, and 22 in Mohlakeng at Ramosa Hall as part of the ongoing public participation process.

IDP meetings continue to serve as important platforms that enable meaningful engagement between the municipality and the community. We are thankful to Mohlakeng Residents that have attended in large numbers, and actively participated through their support and contributions.

Community members are further encouraged to attend the upcoming IDP and Budget Review Roadshows when they resume on 20 May 2026.

Rapid Response Team Begins Service Delivery Drive in Bekkersdal

On 6 May 2026, the Rand West City Local Municipality’s Service Delivery Rapid Response Team officially commenced operations in Bekkersdal, immediately beginning work aimed at improving cleanliness and restoring service delivery in the area.

Equipped with tools and a strong commitment to service, the multi-disciplinary team focused on cleaning public spaces, removing litter, and unblocking stormwater drains in key parts of the township. By the end of the first day, residents were already seeing visible improvements, including cleaner streets and restored public spaces.

The programme was introduced to respond swiftly to pressing service delivery challenges such as sanitation, stormwater management, by-law enforcement, and land use management. In addition to improving municipal services, the initiative also seeks to identify participant skills and place individuals into meaningful work streams that support local development.

The Rapid Response Team will continue operating in Bekkersdal for two weeks, with residents encouraged to cooperate with the teams and take ownership of maintaining a clean and safe community environment.
