We are governed by our own fellow black men and black women, products of our black society.

The tragedy is that for too many of them, feasting comes first and governance comes last.

Public office has become a feeding trough instead of a platform for service.

If you don't believe me, take a closer look at them as individuals. See how many cars they own, how many homes they have acquired, and how many girlfriends or slay queens they are financially supporting. Their lifestyles often tell a story that their official salaries cannot.

Thank you, Mr President. Thank you, Your Excellency, for protecting small and medium enterprises. The same principle applies to lower-income jobs — it is the duty of any government to protect the economic interests and employment opportunities of its citizens. I sincerely thank you for that.

Now, perhaps it is time to encourage and teach other governments around the world to do the same for their own citizens.

It was Nigerians 🇳🇬 who popularized the phrase "Ghana Must Go." More recently, there have been calls by some people in Ghana 🇬🇭 for Nigerians to leave, and in South Africa 🇿🇦 some people have called for foreign nationals to leave as well. Yet South Africa is often singled out as xenophobic, even though anti-immigrant sentiment can be found in many countries.

One boxing world champion once told a newspaper that he wanted to make lots of money, only to later say, "Money is not everything."

Likewise, I would like to leave behind high walls topped with electric fencing, live in a suburb protected by boom gates, security gates, and security personnel, and then declare, "We want a borderless Africa."
