From the Managing Director's Desk:
It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement. After careful consideration, the Board of Directors and I have made the decision to pause Element Red’s expansions for the foreseeable future. While we are still working on our continuation and contingency plans, Element Red will be placed on hold for the next 2-3 years.
We have all needed to take on new commitments that limit our ability to focus on Element Red. Personally, I will be pursuing full-time studies in emergency services over the next two years.
Please know that we are not giving up. We will continue to respond within our communities as much as possible, remaining dedicated to making a difference. This decision has not been easy, but I am confident that it is the right one for our community and the future of Element Red. In the meantime, all Element Red funds will remain untouched in an interest-bearing savings account until we resume further fundraising efforts.
I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been involved with or supported Element Red, both past and present. This is not a final goodbye, and I look forward to the day we return with even more passion to continue making Johannesburg a safer place.
