On Wednesday, 5 April 2023, the trial was postponed, first time by the state due to the fact that the main docket went missing from Sandton Morningside Police Station.

The accused legal representative also withdrew them from the matter. New legal counsel to be appointed by the accused no later than 22 May 2023
