π DAY 3 OF THE MHLONTLO CULTURAL TOUR | WRAPPING UP THE JOURNEY
The third and final day of the Mhlontlo Cultural Tour brought the journey to a memorable conclusion, combining breathtaking natural landscapes, adventure, recreation and tourism experiences that continue to demonstrate the diverse tourism potential of our municipality.
π 1. Tsitsa Falls β Qumbu
The day began with a visit to the spectacular Tsitsa Falls in Qumbu, one of the remarkable natural attractions found within Mhlontlo. Participants had an opportunity to take in the beauty of the falls and surrounding landscape, while appreciating the potential of the area as a destination for nature-based tourism, outdoor activities and exploration.
π₯Ύ 2. Hiking to Tsitsa Falls
The experience continued with a hike to Tsitsa Falls, allowing participants to experience the natural environment more closely. The hike provided an opportunity to explore the landscape, appreciate the beauty of the area and experience the municipality beyond its towns and communities.
The journey to the falls also highlighted the potential for hiking and adventure tourism to form part of the experiences that Mhlontlo can offer to both local and visiting tourists.
πΆ 3. Quad Biking & Kayaking β Tsitsa Bridge
The final experience took place near the Tsitsa Bridge along the N2 between Qumbu and Mthatha, where participants enjoyed an exciting combination of quad biking and kayaking.
These activities brought an adventurous dimension to the cultural tour, demonstrating that Mhlontlo offers opportunities not only for heritage and cultural tourism, but also for outdoor recreation and adventure experiences.
The activities provided a fitting conclusion to a three-day journey that explored the history, heritage, culture and natural beauty of Mhlontlo.

Over the past three days, we have travelled through different parts of Mhlontlo, explored historical sites, experienced local beliefs and traditions, discovered waterfalls and natural landscapes, hiked through our beautiful surroundings and participated in exciting outdoor activities.
The Mhlontlo Cultural Tour has once again reminded us that our municipality is rich in history, culture, heritage, nature and adventure β treasures that deserve to be explored, protected and promoted.
