Mamor a black-owned venture capital firm collaborating with TIA, told the audience that their partnership ensures that local innovations targeting digital connectivity and financial inclusion aren't starved of capital.

Mamokete, the CEO reminded us that our local innovators are already creating practical solutions for today's problems - they just need the right partners to believe in them.

“That is exactly what this fund is set to do. By investing deeply in digital connectivity and financial inclusion, Mamor is helping to ensure that no South African is left outside the digital economy.
Instead, they receive a powerful blend of commercial funding and national institutional support.

It gives the audience a tangible reason to be optimistic: our ecosystem is becoming self-sustaining, protective of its talent, and deeply committed to ensuring that technological progress creates wealth and access for millions of everyday South Africans.”

"This is a typical example of when we say we're moving away from project-based funding to a programmatic approach - this is what we need."

Today TIA CEO Dr. Titus Mathe outlined how the agency is shaking up its investment model under the TIA 2.0 strategy. We are actively moving away from isolated, ad-hoc project funding and stepping into a comprehensive, ecosystem-driven programmatic approach to drive national development at scale.

In the last five years alone, TIA has commercialized 306 technologies. Under TIA 2.0, we are scaling up even further to convert our rich research base into sustainable jobs, thriving industries, and long-term royalties that can be reinvested into the nation.
