|| Protecting the rights of migrant women isn't a side conversation; it's central to how we govern migration.

This week, Stats SA Western Cape is proud to be part of a 2-day Capacity Building Workshop on Gender-Responsive Migration Governance, hosted in partnership with UN Women in Cape Town.

The workshop brings together academics, and officials from National, Provincial and Local government, and NGOs, working through real case studies and group exercises on building migration systems that see and protect women.

Migration policy that ignores gender isn't neutral; it's incomplete. Conversations like these help close that gap.

These surveys help us better understand the social and economic realities of our country by collecting information on employment, households, tourism, governance and public safety, population, consumer prices and more.

The data collected plays an important role in informing planning and decision-making.

If a Stats SA fieldworker visits your household or you are selected to participate in one of our surveys, we encourage you to take part.

If a Stats SA fieldworker visits you, participate and make your voice count. You can identify an official Stats SA fieldworker by:
🟩 Branded gear (shirts, caps, bags)
🟩 Official ID with a photo and name
🟩 Official documents and electronic devices
