SAAF Museum Historic Flight Training Day – 7 March 2026

On 7 March 2026, the SAAF Museum Historic Flight will conduct an official training day as part of its ongoing commitment to preserving and flying South Africa’s rich military aviation heritage.

Flying activities will commence at 09:00, giving aviation enthusiasts an early opportunity to witness historic aircraft take to the skies.

This training day forms an essential part of preparations for the upcoming SAAF Museum Airshow. Pilots and ground crew will use the opportunity to refine display sequences, practice formation flying, and ensure aircraft serviceability ahead of the major public event.
These sessions are critical to maintaining the high standards of safety, precision, and professionalism expected from the Historic Flight.

The Historic Flight operates some of the most iconic aircraft associated with the South African Air Force, keeping these legendary machines airworthy and active for future generations. Unlike an airshow, this training day offers a more authentic glimpse into the operational discipline and preparation required behind the scenes.

Aviation enthusiasts, photographers, families, and supporters of South Africa’s aviation heritage are encouraged to attend and witness history in motion as the team prepares for the upcoming airshow.

Join us on 7 March 2026 from 09:00 and experience the dedication that keeps our aviation legacy alive.
