Today, the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) joined young people at the 2026 Youth Parliament, hosted by Parliament of South Africa, as part of our ongoing public education programme aimed at increasing awareness of AGSA’s constitutional mandate.

Through interactive engagements, learners and youth representatives had the opportunity to learn more about who we are, what we do, and why independent auditing of public institutions matters. We also engaged on how accountability, transparency, and good governance contribute to better service delivery and improved outcomes for all South Africans.

Today, AGSA participated in a youth month exhibition at Parliament commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Soweto Uprising. The event engaged more than 150 learners, Members of Parliament, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders in reflecting on the legacy of 1976 and its continued relevance in shaping South Africa’s future.

Through the exhibition, AGSA is promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance while sharing information on career opportunities and bursaries available to support the development of future leaders and professionals committed to serving the country.
