The High Commissioner of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Namibia, with residence in Pretoria, Republic of South Africa, Air Chief Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa (Retd), presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, at the Credential Ceremony held at State House in Windhoek on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
During the audience with President Nandi-Ndaitwah, High Commissioner Rajapaksa recalled that the cordial relations between Sri Lanka and Namibia began during Namibia's struggle for independence and were further strengthened with the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1999. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding bond between the two countries, with a focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainable development. The discussions also underscored the importance of South-South cooperation and collaboration among developing countries in facing common challenges and achieving sustainable development.
