The EPWP Non-State Sector NPO mobilisation roadshows continue across Gauteng as the Independent Development Trust (IDT), in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI), engages and empowers NPOs on compliance and registration requirements for upcoming opportunities.

Todayโ€™s session was held at the Fochville Civic Centre in the Merafong Municipality and was led by Mr Nceba Njongwe, Manager: Delivery Capacity at the IDT Gauteng Regional Office, and Ms Keeinetse Zwane, Performance Information Management Officer at the IDT Gauteng Regional Office.

Key stakeholders in attendance included the South African Revenue Service (SARS), the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), the Department of Social Development, and other supporting institutions, who provided guidance on mandatory documentation and compliance requirements for EPWP Non-State Sector applications.

Todayโ€™s session was held in Bronkhorstspruit sports center, City of Tshwane and was led by Mr Nceba Njongwe, Manager: Delivery Capacity at the IDT Gauteng Regional Office, and Ms Keeinetse Zwane, Performance Information Management Officer at the IDT Gauteng Regional Office.

The Independent Development Trust Western Cape Region held a strategic meeting on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, as the organisation moves into the new financial year with focus and momentum.

The session brought together the entire regional team to align on strategy, outline project implementation plans, and reflect on leadership changes supporting delivery on key flagship projects such as Acacia Park.

The WC regional team led by the acting Regional General Manager, Mr Tumisi Kgomo, reaffirmed their commitment to deliver on the entityโ€™s mandate. The session also aimed at improving contractor oversight, enhancing compliance, and ensuring consistent diligence in project ex*****on.

The Independent Development Trust (IDT) Free State Region successfully conducted an EPWP NSS NPO Mobilisation Roadshow today in Kroonstad at the Fezile Dabi Teachers Development Centre.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Mokete Mokoena, Acting PIM Social, together with Mr. Mphasa Mpanyane, focusing on empowering and mobilising NPOs within the Fezile Dabi District regarding the EPWP NSS NPO Programme.

The roadshow was attended by various key stakeholders, including officials from the Free State Department of Social Development represented by Ms. Zukiswa Sedaka, the Department of Employment and Labour represented by Ms. Matsiliso Molole and Ms. Tsohle Molibeli, as well as SARS represented by Ms. Maggy Malebo.

The programme commenced with a presentation by Mr. Mokete Mokoena, who provided an overview of the EPWP NSS NPO Programme and outlined the mandatory requirements expected from participating NPOs.

Ms. Tsohle Molibeli from the Department of Employment and Labour guided attendees through the UIF registration processes and compliance procedures.

Ms. Zukiswa Sedaka from the Free State Department of Social Development presented on NPO compliance requirements, emphasising the importance of continuous compliance with the NPO Act. She encouraged organisations not to wait until funding application periods before ensuring compliance.

The final presentation was delivered by Ms. Maggy Malebo from SARS, who outlined the required documents for Tax PIN compliance and explained the processes that NPOs must follow to register as Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs) in order to qualify for tax exemption benefits from SARS.

The participating NPOs were given an opportunity to engage through questions and answers, as well as one-on-one consultations with the various stakeholders present.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Mokete Mokoena, who expressed appreciation to all stakeholders and participating NPOs for their valuable contribution towards strengthening and developing the NPO sector in the Free State Province.

The Independent Development Trust (IDT), in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI), hosted one of several EPWP Non-State Sector NPO mobilisation roadshows in the Sedibeng District Municipality at the Vereeniging Banquet Hall.

The roadshow was led by Mr Nceba Njongwe, Manager: Delivery Capacity, and Ms Keeinetse Zwane, both from the IDT Gauteng Regional Office.

The workshop aimed to improve understanding of compliance requirements for the implementation of Phase 5, Stage 2 of EPWP Non-State Sector for the 2026/27 to 2028/29 financial years. It also sought to create awareness of the upcoming EPWP Non-State Sector bid proposal that will be issued by the IDT, with the objective of empowering NPOs and ensuring they are eligible to apply for the bid.

Information was shared on compliance, registration processes, and mandatory requirements from institutions such as the South African Revenue Service (SARS), the Department of Employment and Labour, the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and the Department of Social Development, which are essential for NPOs to successfully apply for the bid.

This session formed part of a series of mobilisation roadshows being conducted across Gauteng.
