Minister Stella Tembisa Ndabeni is today meeting with the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr Daren Tang, as part of his mission to South Africa.

The engagement focuses on identifying practical areas of cooperation between DSBD programmes and WIPO’s intellectual property business tools, with particular emphasis on strengthening the competitiveness of South African MSMEs.

Discussions also explore the potential introduction of IP Management Clinics and related support programmes to help targeted small enterprises better understand, protect and leverage their intellectual property for growth and market expansion.

The meeting forms part of the Department’s broader efforts to build strategic partnerships that strengthen enterprise development, innovation and the long-term competitiveness of MSMEs.
