With just one month to go until the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the Embassies of the United States, Mexico, and Canada were proud to host South Africa’s national team as they prepare to represent the country across North America.

Sixteen years ago, during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, South Africa and Mexico met in the historic opening match in Johannesburg. This year, they will face each other again on June 11, continuing a memorable World Cup tradition.

From Mexico City to Atlanta to Vancouver, fans across North America are looking forward to welcoming and cheering on Bafana Bafana throughout the tournament.

We look forward to celebrating the spirit of the game and the unifying power of football (or soccer 😉) around the world.
