Occupy Department of Higher Education and Training march organized by Radical Student Movement and its affiliates earlier this year. In light of economic austerity, the climate seems ripe for another march; the determination to that will be if the NSFAS office will pay the students fees as agreed earlier this year.

02nd March 2015

Meeting place: Church Square @ 10am

We have been patient for far too long entertained by the barbaric events witnessed in Parliament and further insulted by the Chairperson of Parliament Portfolio Committee on Higher Education suggesting that poor women studying in tertiary are prostitutes selling their bodies to pay for fees. The perpetual attacks on students have reached a peak and must be halted before they culminate into disaster for our generation.

Our government has money but its priorities have nothing to do with the youth nor moving the country forward, as alleged - the crisis in Higher Education is an evidence that government priorities are somewhere other than the future of the country.

Our government spent R30 billion on consultation during the 2013/14 financial year. Lack of funding in Higher Education means Universities are shut down and keeping the skills minimal ultimately increasing the budget for consultancy that could have funded Higher Education. 2015 NSFAS budget is R6.4 billion and this in real terms means what is spent on consultancy in one year (R30 billion) is spent on funding poor students in 5 years. The government spent R102 billion on consultancy in 3 years! Ask how much was spent on funding for poor students and you'll realize how cursed our generation

The very government has spent lost over R700 billion on corruption since 1994 as reported by Institute of Internal Auditors. Corruption is funded more than poor students! With the current NSFAS budget (R6.4 billion) it means it will take us 109 years to spend R700 billion yet it took our government 20 years to loose this money on corruption.

Act NOW, Higher Education till all poor students ar funded. We appeal for all students' formations and community organizations to join this action. Join the Occupy Movement NOW!

We shall sharpen the Blade!

As we wake up or those who are up already, lets take this time and plead with God, on behalf of the Tshwane University of Technology particularly the students thereof. I have received message from students with devastating stories and unfortunately I have nothing to tell some of them besides that there is nothing we can do to help, its beyond our control. This might be taken lightly by some but its very serious. Lets just even for 2 minutes fo to our knees and ask God to intervene in the crisis in our nation. Lets not just pray for our institution but lets pray for the whole education sector and for the nation , the continent and the world at large. God bless you as you prepare for the meeting.

As the top 19 CSRC, we will be meeting with the management to try find solutions to the crisis that we are in

Dear Fellow TUT Students

Propaganda is:
Information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicise a particular political cause or point of view.

Propaganda is what SASCO is circulating on social media, because their Agenda was beneficial to them and not to the Students of TUT.

Negotiations about the "failed strike" as they refer to it will commence tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.

For once TUT had a peaceful strike not led by power mongers who burn and loot TUT property but by True Revolutionaries who fight for the Empowerment of not a few but all TUT students.

The Tshwane University of Technology has this morning, 16 February 2015, suspended all academic activities at all its campuses until further notice. This decision was taken in view of the ongoing disruption of academic activities.

It is a priority for the University to have students returning to class as soon as possible. Therefore management has once again confirmed its commitment to engage with student leaders to resolve the issues.

An Executive Management Committee (EMC) proposal tabled to student leaders on 10 February 2015, aimed at resolving the funding issue, has been rejected by the Central SRC. It is important to note that there is only limited funding from NSFAS available to assist students to continue with their studies in 2015. If accepted by the student leaders, the EMC proposal will enable TUT to assist about 2000 more students financially for the year.
The notion of fee free university education is not a national policy. The University’s financial sustainability will be compromised if students are allowed to study without paying..

Students who have not yet registered, should continue with the process through TUT’s online registration system until 3 March 2015.
