On 13 May, the second political consultations between Lithuania and Namibia were held in Vilnius, led by Lithuania’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vidmantas Verbickas, and Namibia’s Deputy Minister of International Relations and Trade, Jenelly Matundu. 🇱🇹🇳🇦

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and further expanding economic ties. Both sides expressed interest in deepening cooperation in agriculture, information technologies, digitalisation, renewable energy, water treatment, education, and development cooperation.

The two sides agreed to continue maintaining a regular political dialogue, strengthen practical cooperation, and explore opportunities for future business missions.

Lietuvos ambasadorė Rasa Jankauskaitė susitiko su pulkininku leitenantu Tomu Auželiu, kuris kartu su Jungtinės Karalystės Karališkojo gynybos studijų koledžo programos dalyviais lankosi Pietų Afrikos Respublikoje.

Buvo malonu susitikti ir su šio koledžo absolventais iš Pietų Afrikos bei aptarti šiandienos tarptautinio saugumo aplinkos iššūkius ir tarptautinio bendradarbiavimo svarbą.

Karališkasis gynybos studijų koledžas yra viena prestižiškiausių tarptautinio saugumo studijų institucijų pasaulyje. Čia civiliai ir kariniai atstovai iš įvairių pasaulio valstybių gilina žinias tarptautinio saugumo, geopolitikos ir gynybos politikos srityse.

Lithuania Participates in the 3rd EU–Eswatini Partnership Dialogue 🇱🇹 🇪🇺 🇸🇿

On 8 May, the Embassy of Lithuania joined the 3rd Partnership Dialogue between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the European Union in Mbabane, Eswatini.

The Dialogue, co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Pholile Shakantu and EU Ambassador Karsten Mecklenburg, marked 50 years of EU–Eswatini relations and reaffirmed a shared commitment to cooperation, mutual respect, and sustainable development.

Discussions focused on governance, peace and security, trade and investment, youth empowerment, digital transformation, science and education cooperation, as well as opportunities under the EU Global Gateway strategy and the EU–SADC Economic Partnership Agreement.

Lithuania values the partnership between the European Union and the Kingdom of Eswatini and supports continued dialogue aimed at inclusive growth, digital transformation, the strengthening of a rules-based international order, and further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.

🇪🇺🇱🇹🇸🇿 The Lithuanian Embassy joined the Europe Day celebrations in Mbabane, as well as the commemoration of 50 years of partnership between the European Union and the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The event was attended on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III by Prince Gcina, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Pholile Shakantu, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society representatives, and distinguished guests.

EU Ambassador Karsten Mecklenburg delivered remarks reflecting on the strong and longstanding relationship between the EU and Eswatini, as well as prospects for strengthening future cooperation.

Europe Day continues to symbolize unity, cooperation, and shared values, grounded in a common commitment to peace, development, and prosperity.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the European Union in Eswatini for organizing this memorable celebration.
