His Excellency Datuk Yubazlan Yusof, High Commissioner visited Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Lesotho in Maseru, where he met with the Registrar and members of the University’s management team on 10 September 2026.

The engagement provided an opportunity to learn more about the University’s academic programmes, its contribution to Lesotho’s higher education landscape, and its role in equipping young people with relevant skills and knowledge for the future.

With more than 4,000 students, Limkokwing University has become an important institution in Lesotho’s higher education sector, providing a diverse learning environment and fostering creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among its students.

His Excellency welcomed the opportunity to engage with the University’s leadership and discussed potential avenues for further strengthening cooperation in education, skills development and human capital development, including opportunities to enhance linkages with institutions in Malaysia.

Malaysia places great importance on education and capacity building as key pillars of sustainable development and looks forward to exploring further opportunities for collaboration with Lesotho in the higher education sector.

On 9 September 2026, His Excellency Datuk Yubazlan Yusof, High Commissioner met with alumni of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) in Maseru, Lesotho.

The engagement provided an opportunity to reconnect with Lesotho’s MTCP alumni and exchange views on their experiences in Malaysia, as well as the knowledge and skills gained through their participation in various MTCP courses and capacity-building programmes.

His Excellency commended the alumni for their continued contribution to the development of Lesotho and encouraged them to remain actively engaged as bridges of friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and Lesotho.

The meeting also highlighted the important role of the MTCP in fostering capacity building, knowledge sharing and people-to-people linkages, while creating lasting networks between Malaysia and partner countries.

Malaysia remains committed to further strengthening cooperation with Lesotho through the MTCP and other avenues of technical cooperation, particularly in areas of mutual interest and shared development priorities.

Following the presentation of his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Letsie III of the Kingdom of Lesotho, His Excellency Datuk Yubazlan Yusof, High Commissioner paid a courtesy call on The Right Honourable Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, in Maseru on 10 Septembwr 2026.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on Malaysia–Lesotho bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest, as well as to explore avenues for further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

His Excellency reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to deepening its longstanding and cordial relations with the Kingdom of Lesotho, including through enhanced cooperation in areas such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), technical assistance, trade, tourism and other areas of mutual interest.

Both sides expressed their shared commitment to further expanding bilateral cooperation and fostering closer ties between Malaysia and Lesotho, for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples.

On 10 September 2026, His Excellency the Datuk Yubazlan Yusof, High Commissioner-designate to the Kingdom of Lesotho, had the distinct honour of presenting his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Letsie III of the Kingdom of Lesotho, at a ceremony held in Maseru, Lesotho.

Following the presentation, His Majesty received the High Commissioner in an audience.

The High Commissioner subsequently proceeded to inspect the Royal Guard of Honour of the Kingdom of Lesotho, which formed part of the ceremonial proceedings marking the occasion.

The presentation of Letters of Credence marks the formal commencement of His Excellency’s tenure and underscores Malaysia’s continued commitment to further strengthening the longstanding and cordial relations between Malaysia and the Kingdom of Lesotho.

During the occasion, His Excellency expressed his commitment to working closely with the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho to further expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), technical assistance, trade and tourism, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

His Excellency Datuk High Commissioner Yubazlan Yusof, who are also concurrently accredited to the Kingdom of Lesotho, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Limpho Justice Tau, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho, on 10 September 2026 ahead of the presentation of his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Letsie III on the same day.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on Malaysia–Lesotho bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest, as well as to explore opportunities to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.

H.E Datuk High Commissioner expressed his commitment to working closely with the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho towards deepening bilateral ties and strengthening cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Also present at the meeting was Mrs Limpho Masilo-Motsamai, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
