On 5 June, Datuk Yubazlan Yusof, High Commissioner paid a courtesy visit to SMH Rail and was warmly received by the company's representatives. The visit provided an opportunity to learn more about SMH Rail's expertise in rail engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance services, as well as its role in supporting Malaysia's transportation and industrial development.

The visit also explored potential areas of cooperation that could contribute to strengthening bilateral economic relations. Engagements with leading Malaysian companies such as SMH Rail provide valuable opportunities to identify prospects for business partnerships, technology transfer, capacity-building initiatives, and knowledge-sharing in the railway and infrastructure sectors.

Such exchanges can help promote greater commercial linkages, encourage investment flows, and support mutually beneficial economic outcomes between Malaysia and South Africa, and the region as a whole.

The High Commission remains committed to fostering closer ties with industry stakeholders and looks forward to further engagements that advance economic cooperation and strengthen people-to-people and business-to-business connections between our two countries.
