This initiative is aimed at strengthening the community education and training college’s understanding of QCTO quality assurance processes and requirements, thereby enhancing the effective implementation of education and training programmes. Day 2 of the QCTO Private SDP Capacity Building Workshop is currently underway.

The day commenced with a presentation by Mr Thabo Mgomezulu, Deputy Director: Quality Assurance, who is engaging SDPs on the learner enrolment process for Full Qualifications, Part Qualifications, and Skills Programmes.

He is also taking stakeholders through the monitoring of curriculum implementation for qualifications and skills programmes, providing valuable guidance to strengthen compliance and quality delivery within the sector.

Day 1 of the Limpopo Private SDP Capacity Building Workshop is in full swing.

We have already received insightful presentations from SAQA, who shared a message of support highlighting the importance of quality partners and the broader PSET ecosystem.

Mr David Thaga, the Director of Accreditations engaged attendees on the accreditation process, while Mr Johannes Ngomane, Assistant Director, Assessment unpacked the QCTO assessment process with stakeholders.

The workshop continues to equip private SDPs with valuable knowledge to strengthen quality assurance and skills development within the sector.

The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), alongside the National Skills Fund and SETAs, is participating in a Skills Exhibition at the Grand Parade in Cape Town in support of the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Buti Manamela’s Budget Vote taking place today.

This interactive activation aims to expose young people to the many education, skills development, and career opportunities available within the Post School Education and Training (PSET) sector. Attendees will also have access to a Digital Skills Hub designed to assist with applications for funding and placement opportunities at higher education institutions.

The QCTO is engaging learners on occupational qualifications, career guidance, and the transition arrangements for Pre-2009 qualifications.
