The Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) joins the global surveying and land governance community at the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Conference in Cape Town, where the Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development, Minister Mzwanele Nyhontso, delivered a powerful keynote Address reflecting on South Africa’s land history and the role of spatial justice in shaping a more equitable future.
As an institution at the centre of land reform and property valuation, the OVG recognises the importance of ensuring that land governance systems contribute to redress, fairness, and sustainable development. The Minister’s reflections underscore the significance of transforming historical instruments of exclusion into tools for justice, inclusion, and nation-building.
