As the African National Congress Tolomane Mnyayiza Region, we view Women's Day in South Africa as a significant commemoration of the courageous women who marched against apartheid and the discriminatory pass laws in 1956.

It's a time to reflect on the contributions and sacrifices of women in our liberation movement, as well as to continue advocating for social, economic, and political empowerment for all South African women.

Crucially, Women's Day underscores our commitment to advancing women's rights and creating a more inclusive and just society.

ANC TOLOMANE MNYAYIZA REGION WELCOMES THE ELECTION OF ITS DEPUTY REGIONAL CHAIRPERSON TO LEAD THE UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY.

The ANC Tolomane Mnyayiza Region congratulates Comrade Zero Mqadi, the Regional Deputy Chairperson, on his election as the Mayor of Ugu District Municipality. Cde Mqadi was elected unopposed at full council meeting today, 29 June 2023.

His election is a testament to his exceptional leadership qualities, vast experience, and unwavering commitment to the values and principles of the African National Congress.

We welcome his election and express our unwavering support as Cde Mqadi takes on the crucial responsibility of leading the municipality towards prosperity and sustainable development.

As a municipality responsible for the provision of water and sanitation services, Ugu District Municipality plays a pivotal role in the social and economic wellbeing of our region.

The African National Congress acknowledges the water supply challenges that have persistently impacted the lives of our residents and threatened the progress of our communities. It is imperative that these challenges are addressed with utmost urgency.

The Tolomane Mnyayiza Region firmly believes in Mayor Zero Mqadi's ability to
expedite a comprehensive turnaround strategy to tackle the water supply challenges faced by Ugu District Municipality.

Under his leadership, we anticipate a transformative period for the municipality, characterized by inclusive decision-making, effective governance, and meaningful community engagement in the quest to ensure that access to water and sanitation services is reliable, equitable and sustainable throughout the
region.

We stand united in our support for Mayor Zero Mqadi and his efforts to improve service delivery and drive the transformation agenda of the African National Congress that seeks to address the triple challenge of poverty, unemployment and poverty that
continue to ravage our communities.

With his steadfast leadership and the support of the ANC Tolomane Mnyayiza Region, we are confident indeed that our region will
become a beacon of progress and deliver on the aspirations of our people.

Comrades of Tolomane Mnyayiza Region braved the inclement weather to welcome The 2nd Deputy Secretary General of the African National Congres, Cde Maropene Ramokgopa to the region. The 2nd DSG is accompanied by NWC Members Cde David Mahlobo and Comeade Nonceba Mhlauli

Cde Ramokgopa is in the region as part of the National Working Committee KZN Visit, and will address the Special Regional Council attended by branches and structures of the ANC in the Region
