CONTINUING THE WORK — BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES
The ANC’s Local Government Manifesto sets out six actions that speak directly to the needs and priorities raised by our communities.
In Ward 59, these are not simply new commitments. They build on the work, engagements and priorities that have already been identified with residents.
1. WATER, ELECTRICITY & BASIC SERVICES
We will continue engaging for reliable water, electricity, roads, sanitation and other basic services that communities can depend on.
2. WORK & LOCAL ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES
We will continue supporting opportunities for employment, skills development, EPWP, SMME development and investment that benefits people where they live.
3. SAFER, CLEANER & HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES
We will continue working with residents and relevant stakeholders on safer streets, cleaner neighbourhoods, parks, open spaces, waste management and healthier communities.
4. RESPONSIBLE MUNICIPAL FINANCES
We will continue advocating for municipal resources to be directed towards the priorities of communities, with stronger accountability for how public funds are used.
5. MUNICIPALITIES THAT WORK WELL AND HONESTLY
We will continue raising service-delivery challenges and pushing for a responsive, functional and accountable municipality.
6. LISTENING AND ACCOUNTING TO RESIDENTS
We will continue with community meetings, ward engagements and direct communication with residents — because the priorities of Ward 59 must be shaped by the people who live here.
ONE COMMITMENT

This is about continuity, accountability and building on the work already started — listening to residents, responding to their priorities and continuing to move Ward 59 forward.
