The Department of Human Settlements warns the public against fake social media accounts claiming to process RDP/BNG housing applications online. Applications are NOT done online, and no payment is required to apply.

How to apply for a BNG/RDP house:

Visit your Provincial Department of Human Settlements or Local Municipality.

Complete an RDP/BNG housing application form.

Register on the Housing Needs Database.

Receive and keep your reference number and application date for future status checks.

If your household income increases above R3,500.01, enquire about other housing support programmes such as First Home Finance.

New MEC Hits the Ground Running.

Today, a Special Executive Management Meeting was held at the Limpopo Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA) Head office .
The purpose of the meeting was to introduce Executive Management of the department to CoGHSTA’s newly sworn in Member of Executive Committee (MEC) , Mr. P**e Shayi and bring him on board in terms of the department’s core mandate.
MEC Shayi was also brought abreast on the department’s targets and performance in the context of its mandate and its structural composition .
“I have come to the department during a time and space where a serious transition is coming in the local government sphere and we as CoGHSTA need to be seen as coherent. I pledge to work with colleagues to ensure that the Premier maintains her confidence in the department as she has previously,” he said.

Over 800 Households to Benefit from Improved Water Access in Blouberg Local Municipality.

Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms Pemmy Majodina, today officially handed over two completed water projects in Dilaeneng and Maokeng villages under the Blouberg Local Municipality.
The projects include the development of boreholes, pump houses, water pipelines, and standpipes, bringing reliable water services closer to communities and benefiting 842 households.
"Water is life, and these projects are a significant step towards improving the quality of life for the people of Blouberg."

New Water Supply Schemes Bring Relief to Maokeng and Dilaeneng Residents.

Residents of Maokeng and Dilaeneng villages in the Blouberg Local Municipality are set to enjoy improved access to reliable water following the official handover of two newly completed Water Supply Schemes.
The infrastructure projects were officially handed over today during a ceremony attended by Minister of Water and Sanitation Ms Pemmy Majodina, Deputy Minister Mr David Mahlobo, Limpopo MEC for Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA) Mr P**e Shayi, Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, and Blouberg Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Maria Thamaga.
The completion of the water schemes is expected to significantly improve water supply to households in the two villages, helping to address water shortages that have affected residents over the years and improving their quality of life.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Majodina said the projects demonstrate government's commitment to ensuring that all communities have access to basic services.
The handover marks an important step in strengthening water security in the Blouberg area and underscores government's ongoing efforts to invest in infrastructure that improves the lives of residents.
