COSAS Limpopo condemns in the strongest terms the alleged killing of Nhlamulo Sambo and calls for the immediate arrest of all those responsible.

We reject tribalism, vigilantism, and all forms of violence against young people. No one should be targeted because of the language they speak, where they come from, or their cultural identity.

Justice for Nhlamulo Sambo. An injury to one young person is an injury to all young people.

DELAYED POST

📸||The Congress of South African Students (COSAS) Limpopo, led by Provincial Treasurer Cde Rhulani Shiringani, Additional Member Cde Tondy Masithi, together with Vhembe RTT leadership led by Regional Coordinator Cde Owen Matamela, and regional comrades, conducted a visit to Waterval High School in Makhado Sub-region, Vhembe West.

The visit followed concerns raised by learners regarding the poor and unsafe conditions at the school. COSAS found damaged classrooms, poor sanitation facilities, broken infrastructure, and conditions that place learners’ safety and health at risk. Learners have now been separated, with some learning in temporary mobile classrooms while others have been moved to nearby schools.

A school built in 1986 should not still force learners to study under conditions that undermine their dignity and future.

Education is a right, not a privilege. No learner must be forced to learn in unsafe conditions. COSAS demands urgent intervention from the Department of Education and all relevant stakeholders, and we await feedback from the HOD and Circuit Management by 25 May 2026.
