Weโ€™re receiving disturbing news that at Kopano Secondary school learners need to pay R50 before they get their reports. Weโ€™re urging parents not to pay it! Donโ€™t be scammed by a corrupt principal.

The election didnโ€™t run as smoothly as Selema had hoped. Not only was there a low voter turnout in the area, the election was riddled with foul play: According to Selema, the ANC contingent were up to โ€˜dirty tricksโ€™ of voter bribing, and the IEC proved to be not only incompetent, but also displayed a noticeable bias towards the ANC.

The victory of securing a seat was a hard-won battle which came with valuable lessons. LEBCO are a very young civic organisation with everyone still learning and coming out of this process with bigger ambitions and gusto to serve the people. And while the ANC retained its share of the seats as in the last term, Selema and his team are unfazed: โ€œThe real litmus test is going to be in service delivery,โ€ Selema said.

Plans for ๐™‡๐™š๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ก๐™ก๐™š ๐™‰๐™ ๐™ช๐™ข๐™ฅ๐™ž include setting up portfolio committees within LEBCO which will be running shadow to portfolio committees in the council. The immediate plan is to draft and submit a Service Delivery Plan through the councillor to the council, and thereafter make it known and pledged to the communities. It is going to be the basis upon which they hold the municipality accountable.

Introducing our Ward 14 candidate: Madimetja Frans Tlomatsana.

Madimetja is familiar with politics and served as a ANCYL Political advisor before. His vision is to take out politics out of local government and professionalize local government by ending Cadre deployment and Nepotism, then replace it with a clean collaborative model of community based governance that includes all stakeholders, businesses, civil society, religious groups and traditional leadership.

He wants to honour the commitment of the Freedom Charter to strive together, sparing neither strength nor courage. He has subscribed to the idea and belief that Independent organisations can offer better leadership because he has seen how corrupt political parties are.
"FREEDOM is not achieved until people govern themselves."

Ward 14 this is your councillor candidate you should vote for tomorrow, 1 November 2021. Vote for an Independent, VOTE TLOMATSANA โœŠ

Introducing our Ward 16 candidate: Matabane Edmund Chuene; currently serving as PR for Lebowakgomo Civic Organisation and a councillor candidate for the 2021 local government elections.

Edmund "Tjontjo" Chuene started attending Lebowakgomo SANCO meetings chaired by the now LEBCO chairperson, Mr Tlabjane back in 2013. This is at the time where his passion for community work was unleashed and exposed. He has been committed to community work for over 8 years, counting. Amongst many titles Edmund has in life, he has always been one grounded and bound to his community and his involvement with it proves that, that's why he is no stranger to the people of Lebowakgomo community. He has been committed and loyal to the course since the day he made a decision to be servant and a leader to our people.

This is a man who is a loyal servant to his people and does it wholeheartedly with passion. His vision to see the people of Lepelle Nkumpi receive better is deeply rooted from within. He is an energitic leader, an anchor and an activist for change.
