Spring Has Arrived in Our Gardens!

Everywhere we look, blossoms are bursting into colour, painting our grounds with nature's finest artwork. It's a season of renewal, joy and beauty and our residents are soaking it all in.

Thanks to the care and dedication that goes into maintaining our gardens, this time of year is truly breathtaking. Paths lined with flowers, vibrant beds in full bloom and a gentle fragrance of spring create a haven where our residents can relax, stroll and simply enjoy the wonder of nature.

Spring reminds us that life is about growth and new beginnings. Here at Martha Hofmeyr and Vergeet My Nie, we celebrate not only the season but also the gift of creating spaces where our community can thrive.

A Blooming Thank You!

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the wonderful ladies of Pietersburg Tuinbou Club for the beautiful layout and planting at the entrance of our new Braai & Coffee Shop Area.

Today our Martha Hofmeyr residents discovered the magic of wool art. With colourful threads and plenty of laughter, residents created beautiful masterpieces that were as unique as their personalities.

One resident chuckle, "I think my wool has a mind of its own"

But beyond the fun and creativity, activities like wool art are powerful.

They spark cognitive engagement, keeping minds active and curious.
They encourage behavioral focus, building patience and problem solving skills.
They nurture emotional well being, bringing joy, pride and a sense of accomplishment.

Every swirl of wool carried not just colour, but connection, memory and heart.

Pride, Progress & A Warm Welcome!

This morning we had the joy of hosting Richard Hlungwane and Maghty Mokgalabone from our National Office for a site inspection of our brand new Braai & Coffee Shop Area.

We are proud to showcase these exciting additions, a space that promises laughter around the fire and conversations over steaming cups of coffee.

Dankie, Richard and Maghty for sharing in our vision and celebrating this milestone with us. The end result is already sparking joy and we can't wait to see the residents and community gather here soon.

Today we celebrate our two incredible administrative staff members at SAVF Martha Hofmeyr and SAVF Limpopo. The true heartbeat of our facility.

Behind every smooth day, every neatly filed document and every "where did I put that" moment saved, you'll find them working their magic with patience, dedication and a smile. They keep us organized, calm the chaos and somehow even manage to make paperwork look glamorous (well almost).

Thank you for being the steady hands and kind hearts that keep our facility running. You are not just administrators, you are the glue, the laughter and the quiet heroes of our daily work.

We appreciate you more than words can say, and we promise not to lose any forms....at least until tomorrow!

Work on our new Braai & Coffee Shop Area is moving along beautifully. The end is truly in sight.

We're planning to celebrate its official opening at our AGM on 22 September, where we'll also thank our incredible sponsors who made this ambitious project possible.

From laughter around the fire to coffee shared with friends, this space is set to become the heart of our community gatherings. The excitement is building and soon the doors will open to a future filled with warmth, connection and joy.

A Roof Over Our Joy !

Martek is on site today, putting up the roof of our brand new communial braai and coffee shop area.

We can already imagine the crackle of the coals and the sparkle of laughter, because soon this space will be the heartbeat of our get togethers.

With a roof above us and a fire within us, we look forward to many memorable days of sharing stories, enjoying good food and celebrating community.
