The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to join congregants in worship and to reflect on the shared values of faith, unity, and service to the community. The ANCWL also used the visit to encourage congregants to use the upcoming registration weekend of 20 and 21 June to check their voter registration status and to urge unregistered voters to register to vote.

ANCWL PETER MOKABA REGION CONVEYS CONDOLENCES TO THE ROMOLLO FAMILY FOLLOWING THE TRAGIC DEATH OF ANNA MAKHUKHU RAMOLLO

The ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) Peter Mokaba Region, led by Regional Chairperson Cde Mapula Phoshoko together with Regional Secretary Cde Sophy Ramoshaba, REC members, branch leadership and members of the ANC in Ward 08, today conducted a courtesy visit to the Romollo family at Ga-Rakgoatha Extension 73, Zebediela, under the Sefako Makgato Sub-Region.

The visit was undertaken to convey heartfelt condolences and stand in solidarity with the family following the tragic death of Anna Makhukhu Ramollo, who had been reported missing together with her brother in recent weeks.

The ANCWL in the Peter Mokaba Region is deeply disturbed by this painful incident which has shaken the community and the broader region. The brutal realities faced by vulnerable members of society, particularly women and persons living with disabilities, continue to expose the urgent need for stronger community protection systems and intensified social interventions.

The ANCWL notes with serious concern the trauma and uncertainty endured by the family and community during the search operation. We further acknowledge the role played by community members, volunteers and law enforcement agencies during the search efforts.

The ANCWL calls upon law enforcement authorities to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that investigations into this matter are concluded thoroughly and urgently. Communities deserve answers, and families deserve justice.

As the ANCWL, we reaffirm our commitment to remain present amongst our people during moments of grief, hardship and social crisis. The movement must continue to provide support, leadership and solidarity to affected communities.

The visit was also attended branch leadership and local ANC structures, demonstrating collective leadership and the continued presence of the ANC amongst the people.

The ANCWL Peter Mokaba Region conveys its deepest condolences to the Romollo family and the community of Ga-Rakgoatha during this difficult period.
