Die Munisipaliteit is bewus van verdere kragprobleme wat sekere wonings in Nuwe Straat raak.

Ons tegniese span is reeds sedert vanoggend besig om aandag daaraan te gee. Die span doen alles moontlik om die foute so spoedig moontlik te herstel.

⚡ ELECTRICITY OUTAGE: ONSEEPKANS

We wishes to inform residents that Onseepkans is currently experiencing an electricity outage. The matter has been logged with Eskom and we are awaiting their technical team to attend to the fault.

The power outage is also affecting water services, as the water treatment plant is currently without electricity.

Residents are therefore requested to use water sparingly until electricity supply has been restored and the water treatment plant is operational again.

The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation while the matter is being attended to.

Our electrical team is ready to commence with the necessary repairs. However, the strong winds remain a challenge and are making it unsafe for the team to carry out the repairs at this stage.

⚡ ELECTRICITY OUTAGE UPDATE: POFADDER

We would like to provide residents with a further update regarding the electricity outage.

Our electrical team has successfully identified the fault. The fault was found to be a broken cable at an insulator on the network.

Our team is currently making the necessary arrangements to carry out the repairs. However, the prevailing rain remains the only challenge, as it is currently unsafe for the team to undertake the repair work under these conditions. Repairs will commence as soon as the rain subsides and it is safe to work on the network.

Residents may notice that some houses still have electricity while others remain without power, as households are supplied through different phases of the electricity network.

Please also note that the electricity supply to Blyvooruitsig has temporarily been switched off as a precautionary measure to prevent further damage to the network while the fault is being attended to.

We understand the inconvenience caused by the outage and sincerely apologise for the disruption. We appreciate residents' patience and understanding while our team works to resolve the matter as safely and as quickly as possible.

Residents will be kept informed of further developments and progress with the repairs.

The Municipality is currently receiving a high volume of outage and fault reports following the prevailing weather conditions. Our team is working as quickly and safely as possible to address these faults and restore electricity to affected areas.

We kindly ask residents to please be patient and understanding while our teams work under challenging weather conditions.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the cooperation and patience of our residents.

The Municipality is aware that parts of Pofadder are currently experiencing an electricity outage due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions.

The Municipality wishes to assure residents that the matter has been noted and will be attended to. However, the current weather conditions make it unsafe for our electrical team to conduct fault-finding and repair work at this time.

For the safety of our employees, the electrical team will only be dispatched to conduct fault-finding and attend to the fault once the rain has subsided and conditions are safe.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disruption this may cause and thank residents for their patience, understanding and cooperation.

Khâi-Ma Municipality Welcomes R13 Million Eskom Debt Write-Off
A Significant Financial Milestone

Khâi-Ma Local Municipality welcomes the confirmation of a R13 million write-off of historic municipal debt owed to Eskom under the Eskom Municipal Debt Relief Programme.

This is a significant financial milestone for our Municipality and reflects the commitment and hard work of Council, Management and the Administration in strengthening financial management and meeting the programme’s requirements.

The write-off creates greater financial space for the Municipality to focus its own resources on service delivery, infrastructure, maintenance and tangible benefits for the communities we serve, rather than historic debt obligations.

We remain committed to responsible financial management, continued compliance and working towards the second and final one-third write-off.
