Brackenburn is a remarkable reserve nestled between the Outeniqua mountains and Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape, South Africa. There is wonderful self-catering holiday cottage available which comfortably sleeps six people. There are guided walks available on request - booking essential. The 150 hectare reserve is almost entirely indigenous forest and offers spectacular views of the area and ex

quisite forest and river scenery. Over 100 bird species are recorded here as well as a multitude of mammal species, including leopard, porcupine, honey badger, bushbuck, and bushpig.

Yes, if you find such a creature the very best thing is to leave it alone and its mother usually returns to it. However it is reassuring to know the wildlife rehabilitation centres are designed to take care of wild creatures if there is no other option.*B.
