Busy day in ward 7

28 May 2026

Today our chairperson Claude Terblanche attended to various parts of ward 7 listening to the people and signing new members.

With the president announcing the local government election date for 4th November 2026, our leadership will be moving to all corners of Bitou listening and speaking to voters.

In Harkeville a small forestry village we listened to people about what they think of how best the people can govern on local government level.

In Kranzhoek the bigger part of ward 7 we welcomed Victor Anthony and members to the organization.

Plett Democratic Congress - PDC flyer drive.

Tuesday 26 May 2026 volunteers were out in communities doing a blitz pamflet drive.

This drive aims at motivating residents to register and come out to vote. With the president announcing local government to be on 4th November 2026, the first voter registration weekend is on 20 - 21 June 2026.

Thank You to the People of Plettenberg Bay.

To the local government workers, politicians, residents, volunteers, NGOs, and donors of Plettenberg Bay,

Since last week, our town has faced a disaster that tested all of us. In the middle of it, I’ve seen something stronger: the way this community pulled together without hesitation.

To the NGOs and volunteers who took time off work, left your own homes, and showed up day after day for the affected communities — thank you. You didn’t wait to be asked. You cooked, distributed food, cleared debris, checked on neighbors, and gave people more than meals. You gave them dignity and hope when things felt uncertain.

To the donors who gave funds to keep food on the table and clean water flowing — thank you. Your support turned into hot meals, bottled water, and supplies that reached families who needed them most. That kind of quiet generosity is what keeps a town standing.

Plettenberg Bay has always been beautiful, but what I saw this past week was even more powerful. Strangers became neighbors, and neighbors became family. The unity on display wasn’t for cameras or praise. It was just people doing what’s right for each other.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reminding us what community really means. Plett is stronger because of you.
