KwaZulu Natal Premier Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli joined mourners in Stanger, KwaDukuza Local Municipality, to bid farewell to the late Member of the Provincial Legislature, Honourable Ncamisile Nkwanyana, on Friday, 19 June 2026.

The atmosphere was solemn yet dignified, as family, colleagues, and members of the Inkatha Freedom Party gathered to honour a woman whose life was defined by service, compassion, and faith.

The Premier described her passing as a profound loss to the Legislature, the Party, and the province, noting her decades of dedication as a nurse, councillor, legislator, and leader who touched countless lives with humility and integrity.

The funeral reflected both grief and gratitude, as tributes highlighted her unwavering commitment to healthcare oversight, her advocacy for women’s empowerment, and her deep devotion to the Assemblies of God Church.

Premier Ntuli extended heartfelt condolences to the Nkwanyana and Fakazi families, affirming that KwaZulu Natal will remember her as a loyal servant of the people and a steadfast advocate for justice.

The mood was one of reverence and remembrance, with mourners united in celebrating Mama Nkwanyana's legacy and drawing inspiration from her example of quiet strength and tireless service.

PREMIER'S ENGAGEMENT WITH COMMUNITY SAFETY STRUCTURES

Strengthening partnerships in the fight against crime and building safer communities remains a key priority of the Provincial Government.
The Honourable Premier, Thamsanqa Ntuli, engaged with Community Safety Structures, including Community Policing Forums (CPFs), traditional leadership, neighbourhood watches, faith-based organisations, youth formations and other stakeholders, to discuss collaborative approaches aimed at enhancing safety and security across communities.

The engagement seeks to foster stronger cooperation between government, law enforcement agencies and community structures to address crime, gender-based violence and femicide, substance abuse, vandalism of public infrastructure, and other social challenges affecting residents.

The session provided a platform for stakeholders to share experiences, identify local safety priorities, and develop practical interventions that promote active citizen participation in crime prevention initiatives.
Together, we can build safer, more resilient communities where all citizens can live, work and thrive in peace and security.
